Warzone April 6th Hotfix Nerfs Tactical Rifles and The FFAR Slightly More!

I thought April Fools was over?

If you’ve been playing Warzone these past few months, you know that these two have been dominant for a while now. To be honest, I don’t know why they haven’t changed the meta by now because it got old a month ago. I will save this rant for Break The Meta, but for now, let’s refocus on what they are changing to the AUG and FFAR!

By the way, this hotfix just went live today, so you can check these changes out for yourself as well. Tactical Rifles are receiving a Recoil Strength increase, making them harder to use (I doubt this will do much). Along with that nerf arrives an ADS Speed Decrease for the FFAR. Here are the exact notes from their April 6th Hotfix post:

  • Cold War Tactical Rifle Charlie
    • Recoil strength has been increased.
      • Burst weapons ride a fine line between inefficient and oppressive. The intent of this change is to maintain the weapon’s identity of being a powerhouse while making it a bit more difficult to wield. Right now we feel it is too easy to stay on target given how lethal it is. We will continue to monitor the performance of the Tactical Rifle Charlie and make additional changes if necessary.
  • FFAR 1
    • ADS speed has been decreased.
      • The FFAR is a jack of all trades. It has the damage profile and range of an AR as well as the fire rate of an SMG. The FFAR’s wholesale efficacy has it edging out SMGs at ranges we’re not satisfied with. Ideally, the FFAR fulfills the role of a mid-range dominator while falling prey to weapons that excel in short-range engagements. We are bringing the FFAR a bit more in line with what you might expect from an AR—damage and range at the cost of handling.

These nerfs are okay, but I think they should buff other weapons as a top priority. You won’t find many people switching from the FFAR, AUG, or M16 because their TTK is insane, no matter the recoil. Not only that, but the hacker issue in Warzone is out of hand… I’ve with and against many hackers in the past two months, and the report system doesn’t do anything.

Again, I will post more about my thoughts on the state of Warzone on Break The Meta’s launch! It’s coming soon, so make sure to keep an eye out for it.;
