VALORANT Targets Running Headshots In Today’s 2.02 Patch

VALORANT’s 2.02 patch that released today targets Rifle Movement Accuracy after complaints about it since the launch of the game. I can’t lie, I’ve been a victim of this gameplay design flaw and it’s not fun to deal with. Have a Brimstone or Breach full-on Sprint to the left and 1-tap my head mid-sprint is extremely frustrating, to say the least.

Anyways, VALORANT increased the “error” effect on Rifle Movement Accuracy. Their blog post explained:

We’ve significantly increased the amount of error that all Rifles get when moving and shooting to help combat the sensation of running kills with rifles. These changes will make kills while moving with rifles more rare, especially at longer rangesβ€”but still possible up close. We’ll be monitoring this closely and will continue to fine-tune as necessary.

  • Running Error across rifles increased 3.75 >>> 5.0
  • Walking Error across rifles increased .8 >>> 1.1
  • Crouch-moving Error across rifles increased .3 >>> .8

Hopefully, this change will help somewhat to stop the running Vandal headshots for 230m away. Along with this 2.02 patch update, arrives some Ranked changes. Players will now reach their actual rank faster and require fewer games to prove their rank!

Also, players who are below or at Diamond will now gain bonus Ranked Point gains for popping off in matches. After passing Diamond 3, the premade capacity size has been set to two instead of five. These changes will help the game out for sure, but it might take a couple more tweaks to get it down right!
