This year’s theme is “One World, Infinite Joy” The show is huge, with booths from all the major game publishers, console makers as well as mobile gaming platforms. It also features some indie and international booths as well. The first Tokyo Game Show was held in 1996. From 1996 to 2002, the show was held twice a year, once in the Spring and once in Autumn. Since 2002, the show has been held once a year. It attracts more and more visitors each year. The 20th anniversary of TGS was celebrated in 2016. Last year’s TGS 2018 was the biggest event ever in its history, with 668 companies and organizations from 41 countries and regions participating as exhibitors and 298,690 people visiting the exhibition! ©2002–2019 CESA/Nikkei Business Publications, Inc.
