Theater Mechanicus from the Lantern Rite event in Genshin Impact’s “All That Glitters” update is MiHoYo’s take on Tower Defense! But as usual, I love to cover Genshin’s content, and this will be my first ever Tips and Tricks article, yay! I don’t want to hold off any longer, but for those who don’t know how to access this mode, don’t worry; I will cover it quickly.
If you haven’t unlocked Liyue, you need to do so ASAP. If you do, you should have a new tab in the Event Overview tab, leading to the Latern Rite Event screen. You have to complete the introductory mission to access Theater Mechanicus. Remember that you need to pay one Xiao Lantern every time you want to take a crack at this game mode.
I know this might seem like a no-brainer, but I want to point out three specific characters I found to be extremely useful. Those three being Traveler (GEO), Barbara, and Kaeya. I only stated Barbara and Kaeya because I know that everyone has these characters for free, but you can use any Hydro or Cyro character you wish.
Time to explain how to use these three characters in this situation! I’m going to keep it fast and simple, use the Traveler (Make sure he/she is GEO) to block off one lane, and use the Hydro/Cyro combo to CC lock the other(s). Easy right? I have a video of me using the traveler in action to show you what I’m talking about:
At the time of making this tips and tricks article, the Anemo Towers have become available! That being said, there are more Towers to be unlocked over the duration of this event. At the time being, though, you can use Pyro and Electro to absolutely wipe waves! The Pyro Tower alone dishes out 3000 damage or more when upgraded past level 2!
If you are grinding Artifacts or Ascension materials in Genshin, you know how time-consuming fighting a World Boss by yourself can be. Take a buddy when you head into Theater Mechanicus, and you can double the Crowd Control output! Especially when greater difficulties unlock in these next few days, you are going to need an extra member to hold off the assault!
For instance, both of you can run a Hydro/Cyro team to slow them down, greatly giving your towers more time to dish out damage. If you are both feeling one character, have you or your buddy play Hydro, and the other picks Cyro!
Since you can’t deal damage to incoming waves yourself (Unless it’s an elemental attack), try knocking smaller minions off the edge! This strategy is especially useful when your towers are busy with bigger targets, and you need to thin the herd! It’s a small but useful trick in my book, no doubt.
That just about wraps up this Theater Mechanicus Tips and Tricks guide! I hope some of these pointers helped you out in your grind for a free 4* character from the “Stand By Me” event. If you have some tips and tricks of your own, let us know in the comment section down below!
