On Monday, May 20th, 2019, Turner “Tfue” Tenney files a lawsuit against Faze Clan for taking away 80% cut from Tournaments and Streaming along with violating California Law. This isn’t the only issue Tfue addresses about Faze clan!
Although the main complaint was about Sponsorships, other problems like signing an underage player, pressuring Tfue into drinking alcohol once he turned 21, and failed payments arise as well.
FaZe Clan Responds To Lawsuit
4 Hours later from this response from FaZe Clan, another message response shows up from FaZe Clan. This time, giving their full thoughts about the situation!
FaZe claims to have never claimed the 80% cut from any of the FaZe members, and then goes onto to state that it’s actually the other way around!
“Every new agreement since last summer has maximum 20% to FaZe clan and 80% to the gamer” states FaZe Clan.
But here’s where it gets tricky, could they be telling the truth and Tfue is pulling a scam?
Look at this statement right here from their second response:
They bring up a huge point, someone with all that popularity would demand a lot more! It’s just another classic case of “Fame gone to the head”, not to mention his family is probably in his ear planning something devious.
Then again, this is FaZe we are talking about here! These guys are known for being Top Tier Assholes, it’s as if they are having a lying contest!
Hollywood Reporter captures the statement document from FaZe Clan, but they continue to claim that they barely touched Tfue’s revenue. Here’s the most interesting part about this statement:
Over the course of our partnership with him, which began in April 2018, FaZe Clan has collected:
$0 – Tournament Winnings
$0 – Twitch Revenue
$0 – YouTube Revenue
$0 – from any social platform
In fact, we have only collected a total of $60,000 from our partnership, while Tfue has earned millions as a member of FaZe Clan. While contracts are different with each player, all of them – including Tfue’s – have a maximum of 20% to FaZe Clan in both tournament winnings as well as content revenue, with 80% to the player. In Turner’s case, neither of those have been collected by FaZe Clan.
