Solution To Autofill In League of Legends!

There’s 1 solution to autofill in League of Legends, display the filled role on pop-up.

Before I get assissinated for making a suggestion, hear me out. Autofill is a problem, and it obviously needs some sort of solution.

The Origin of Autofill

Sadly I can’t recall nor find when Autofill was first released, but i do know it has been around since 2016. That being said, for 4 years has Autofill traumatized Ranked players.

Autofill was made to shorten high elo queue times, and for some reason it’s in low elo as well. Keep in mind that high elo in this case is from Masters to Challenger, which is less than 1% of the entire playbase…

Why Autofill Is Bad

To clarify, it’s not bad for Higher Elo because they usually have to wait 20 mins for a match. It is very unnecessary in Lower Elo considering Low Elo players don’t even know how to play the game…

Low elo is Iron to Diamond, atleast from what the 1% playerbase told me. When Low Elo players find themselves in a Autofilled situation, they’ll do one of three things.

They’ll play it out hoping their team can carry them, they’ll troll or grief, or they might play with a horrible attitude and feed. Iron to Gold players don’t know how to dodge champ select, so they waste lots of time and fall farther.

The Pros and Cons of This Solution

I’m not saying this solution will be completely flawless, because it obviously isn’t. I’m going to dot down any Pros and Cons that i see from this potential autofill solution.

Pros:

  • Gives players a chance to decline if they receive a role they do not desire.
  • May lower the trolling and griefing rate by 30% in Ranked.
  • This won’t effect higher elo because they know how to play the game no matter the role.
  • Most players would wait for their role, rather then to dodge 3 times and hop off for the day with -3 lp per dodge.
  • Less champ select arguements over who should have said role.

Cons:

  • This may cause longer queue times, but atleast you won’t have to lose 3 LP and wait 5 minutes or more.
  • .This may become a issue for Riot to execute, and also might mess the client up even more
  • Some players will ignore this message, and play troll things anyways.

That’s it for the moment, but trust me there are plenty more pros and cons of this situation. If you have any, add them down in the comment section below.

Why They Won’t Fix Autofill

In my personal belief, it’s to keep players in the rank trap. If you think about it, Autofill is completely RNG and can cost a player up to 9 LP including hourly penalties even if they didn’t play.

Once players have hit their desired rank, they tend to play the game a lot less. This is because the grind is over, that’s the rank they’ve always wanted so there is no need for further torture.

Autofill rolls in and says “Hey there buddy, we need your money so stay in Silver please thank you :)” and slaps you in a champ select with 1 other filled teammate so you can pray for victory against a 1 million mastery point one trick on the enemy team.

The longer you play, the more you will be tempted to buy the latest skin so that you can lose in style. You see where I’m getting at here?

“I’m losing 20 lp per lose, but hey atleast i got this new Blood Moon Master Yi skin in exchange for my mental health!”. This is where the marathon of Pro Guides, Skill Capped, and Virkayu videos begin to fish for your attention!

In Conclusion

This is only a suggestion really, I can see this going good and bad. The point I would like to get across here, is that Autofill affects the mental heavily. Did this article just turn into a rant? It did, i see this now…Β
