Well here is just another example of this perfect pairing coming together. It seems that RFRSH Entertainment has brought on English rock band Asking Alexandria to be the official music partner for the BLAST Pro Series‘ stop in Los Angeles. www.blastproseries.com On July 13, 2019, the BLAST Pro Series is coming to Los Angeles. The BLAST Pro Series made its US debut in Miami and is now ready to take on the west coast in the City of Angels with their trailblazing esports entertainment format. Six of the world’s current best Counter-Strike Global Offensive teams will be battling for a grand prize of $250,000 dollars! That would buy a lot of skins! The teams will also be playing for the historic triangular BLAST trophy as well as the title of BLAST Pro Series Champions. Asking Alexandria have recorded their own version of the tournament series’ theme music and their track ‘When The Lights Come On’ has been chosen as the official song of the event. It is their alt metal/post-hardcore nod to what has become a fascinating phenomenon to witness all over the globe: Esports as a mainstream and permanent part of world-wide culture. Ben Bruce, guitarist for Asking Alexandria commented: “I think that Esports is an exciting new platform. If you look at these Esports events, they are a huge production and even just the energy from the spectators—it’s like an NFL game.” “When we wrote that song, we wrote it specifically with arena crowds in mind. The whole song itself is about that feeling and about that moment when those lights come on and the show starts. It only exists there and then. That’s the kind of energy that these Esports events are capturing and creating now.” Courtesy photo: The Spokesman Review Check out their song ‘When The Lights Come On’ here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jl_nu6vfBM Of course the teams for the BLAST Pro Series 2019 have yet to be formally published, but it will involve five of the seven teams that have been enlisted for the season: Ninjas in Pyjamas, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, Cloud9, Natus Vincere, MIBR, and Astralis.
