Marshmello and his Music Manager Moe Shalizi announced a power move. They are launching an animated video series for children called “Mellodees.” The show follows the adventures of Dee, an artistic robot who embarks on educational and musical adventures with her friends. The original music was created and written by Marshmello himself. The COO of The Shalizi Group said,

“Mellodees provides a safe place to learn not only educational material but also age-appropriate holistic topics such as self-care, diversity, physical and mental well-being, community, and culture.”

Marshmello will revamp some classic kids’ songs like “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” by throwing in his twist on the music, with plans to create an all-original soundtrack for the show. His manager and business partner also said, “Over the past year, we’ve been diligently working on merging electronic music with educational content for children. Positive and inspiring content is critical, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when children’s screen time is at an all-time high.”

They will be releasing the program globally on Youtube, Tik Tok, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. They also plan on expanding the brand by creating toys and other accessories as well. I wish I would have had some EDM music to jam out to when I was a kid – the younger generation will never know how lucky they are.
