It’s not even released yet but people are playing Dead Island 2.
Located through Eurogamer, some players have managed to download a five-year-old prototype of the highly-awaited sequel which apparently was leaked through the V board of 4chan.
Dead Island 2 is formatted for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is the sequel to the 2011 video game Dead Island as well as the third major installment in the Dead Island series.
While many resources are apparently placeholders, and while some are missing completely, it appears the construct, which is dated around June 2015, is certainly the product of original developer Yager games. Merely a month after this construct was created, the company parted ways with its publisher, Deep Silver, with Yager admitting that the “respective visions of the project fell out of alignment.”
The bigger question with Dead Island 2 is when we will get to play the final adaptation. It was uncertain for several years if the game would ever exit development, the project was shuffled from Yager Development to Sumo Digital and eventually to Dambuster.
A message from Dambuster Studios had suggested that the long-awaited zombie sequel would be available on both current- and next-gen consoles. However, we’re still without a formal release date.
I guess we’ll have to log onto 4chan for now.
