Genshin Impact has picked up quite the audience recently, and most of them have no idea where to start. Don’t worry, Professor Django is here to guide you with 5 beginner tips to start you off on a good path!
- LEARN MORE: Genshin Impact Version 1.1 Announced!
NOTE: I recommend following the order of these tips, but it’s not required. I also assume that you have some prior Genshin Impact knowledge.
So, Rerolling is possibly the biggest tip out of this entire list. Many players including myself entered this game blindly and suffered from horrible summons.
I got to Adventure Rank 34 before I realized that my chances of getting a Legendary character were pretty low now. I’ve had about seven characters who I didn’t like to play, but I just hoped one day that I would roll Diluc with a low Primogem income.
DON’T BE LIKE ME! If you do not get interesting characters from the beginning, Rerolling is highly recommended! In short, Rerolling is when you create a whole new account in hopes that you receive better characters. For a more in-depth guide, head to this article to learn how to Reroll properly.
Elemental Chaining Combos
Next on the list, we have one of the most important fundamentals of Genshin Impact, Elemental Chaining Combos. Once you receive your full squad, you’re going to wanna learn how to combo with the said squad.
That being said, it’s all about the Elements baby! In order to put out massive amounts of damage in this game, elemental reactions are extremely important to know. Knowing what elements counter each other, and which elements work great together, can save you lots of time! Well, not only time, but you would be putting out a ton more damage.
Now, here is a good beginner graph showing you exactly what I’m talking about:
For example, one of the synergies in the game are Mona and Keqing. They work extremely well with each other because of their Electro-Charged damage output. Not only that, but Mona amplifies Keqing to do even more damage! Here is a video on how over-powered this combo is:
I suggest that you look at the characters you have, and form a team based on their synergy.
Explore The Entire Map
So, this is a small tip, but it will save you a ton of time in the future. When you start the game (After AR 7), you should go claim all the Checkpoints and Statues around the entire map.
This will help you travel 10x faster when doing quests, getting materials, domains, etc… Not only that, but they give a decent amount of Primogems afterward as well.
Now, this is way easier to do than finding all the Oculus around the map, which brings us to my next tip.
Collect All Oculus
Unfortunately, this is the most annoying but necessary tip on this list. If you didn’t know already, the only way to increase stamina is by collecting Oculus and turning them in at the Statues of the Seven.
This is not a difficult task, but a very time-consuming and tedious one. You can’t collect all Oculus on the map in under 2 hours unless you happen to have some sort of speed hack.
All that being said, the best way to complete this task, is by opening up the Genshin Impact Interactive Map or watching these videos:
There are 196 Oculus in total. They give you Adventure Rank XP, some Primogems, and a load of Stamina!
If you haven’t unlocked Stormterror’s Lair, you won’t be able to collect all Anemoculus. There are about 11 Anemoculus in that area, and there is a quest you need to acquire for one of the Geoculus hidden below the waterfall.

After collecting all of the Geoculus, you should have 9 Stone of Remembrance. These stones will be needed in order to unlock a dungeon, you can do so by placing the stones into each pillar. This dungeon will have tough bosses, but reward you with a Legendary Artifact called “Royal Flora”.
Yeah, this process takes about 1-2 days assuming you don’t have time. Good luck and don’t lose your sanity trying to complete it!
This last tip is also short, but it’s important to do daily. Commissions are daily small quests that give you Primogems upon completion. In total, you earn about 60 Primogems per-day if you complete all four dailies and collect the bonus at the Guild Quest Guide.
Luckily, this process takes about 10 minutes per day. You earn one summon every two days with this process. If you were to try to get summons of Commissions alone, it would take 20 days to get one 10 summon. I wouldn’t depend on this as the only way to get Primogems, but it’s one of the quickest ways.
That’s all for the tips for you Genshin Impact starters out there! Hopefully, these tips will guide you towards a more enjoyable experience, or maybe you just like to see me write articles? Hahaha just kidding, unless?…
