Fortnite World Cup Finals 2019

Fortnite Cup

This Year’s Venue

Players from all over the world will gather for Fortnite’s biggest tournament ever on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, July 28, 2019, in Queens New York City at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

After months and months of preparations and numerous online qualifiers, Fortnite’s World Cup Finals are here. The tournament brings together nearly 200 of the world’s top Fortnite players to compete for their share of the $30 million prize pool. There will also be a whole host of celebrities playing for the Fortnite Pro-Am.

The 2 main competitions of the World Cup 2019 will be Solos and Duos. These representative players each took part in online qualifiers over the course of 10 weeks, with only a few players from each region qualifying each week. The Duos competition will take place on Saturday, June 27, and the Solos will take place on Sunday, July 28.

Creative World Cup

The tournament will also host several events on Friday, July 26, 2019, which includes two additional competitions. The first competition will be the Creative World Cup, which brings together 8 different teams of 4 to compete in several different Fortnite Creative game modes. After the Creative World Cup, there will be a Celebrity Pro-Am Duos tournament where 50 pro players will team up with 50 celebrities to compete for a $3 million dollar charity prize pool.  Lots of great gaming to be seen here as well; a great warm-up to the final games.

How to Watch

The tournament will be broadcast live on Fortnite’s Twitch and YouTube channels, or it can be seen in-game using Epic’s new picture-in-picture feature. So if you’re such a huge Fortnite fan that you can’t bear the thought of having to stop playing to watch the Fortnite World Cup finals (which you should watch), you’re in luck. Epic Games has introduced picture-in-picture streaming as part of the game’s 9.41 update. This new feature gives you a way to tune into the Esports tournament while you are trying for a victory royale of your own. You just have to hit a “watch now” button in the lobby to tune in before launching a match. This may not help your chances of winning, but you don’t have to leave your squad to keep up with World Cup happenings.  And hey, it might be a nice break to watch someone else play for a while.
