Call of Duty Bans 60,000 Hackers From Warzone!

Call of Duty has announced that they have banned 60,000 hackers from Warzone today! After they made the Account Privacy change recently, hackers have been swarming the game non-stop. Raven Software finally caught wind of this massive cheater wave.

I’m more than sure that you’ve run into a couple of these rascals if you’ve played Warzone in the past month. Whether it be Aimbot or Wall Hacks, they’ve been there with no punishment or acknowledgment by Call of Duty until now.

They’ve decided to change up the formula and start executing actions:

  • Weekly backend security updates
  • Improved in-game reporting mechanisms
  • Β Added 2-factor authentication, which has invalidated over 180,000 suspect accounts
  • Eliminated numerous unauthorized third-party software providers
  • Increased dedicated teams and resources across software development, engineering, data science, legal, and monitoring
  • Enhancements to our internal anti-cheat software
  • Additional detection technology
  • Adding new resources dedicated to monitoring and enforcement
  • Regular communication updates on progress; more two-way dialogue
  • Zero tolerance for cheat providers
  • Consistent and timely bans

What bothers me is that they haven’t had this for the past Call of Duty games. I understand that there will always be a hacker now and then, but this wave shouldn’t have happened for almost 2 weeks long. Hopefully, we see fewer Warzone Hackers!
