Anthem Next only has one more shot to prove that they can turn around the crash site of this game! Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier states that:
Electronic Arts Inc. will hold a meeting this week to determine whether it will continue trying to create a new version of the failed online game Anthem, according to three people familiar with the matter.
If we are honest here, it’s looking pretty grim for Bioware’s Anthem Project. The cost will be great as Jason goes on to state:
The Anthem Next team includes about 30 people, BioWare said last year. People familiar with the project said it will need to expand to at least triple that in order to produce new content and continue attempting to overhaul the game.
There is a high chance this Anthem project gets scrapped this week. If the sources are correct about this meeting, I’d be shocked if they continued the project. I personally want to see Bioware’s second shot at Anthem, especially since the promising changes they showcased to use towards the end of 2020.
Of course, they aren’t the only ones in this boat. Cyberpunk 2077 managed to pull almost the same scenario off. This all ties into what I’ve been saying for a while as an avid gamer, do not overhype upcoming games.
